Federico Bordin

Federico Bordin Studio is a landscape architecture and garden design firm founded in 2023 upon the return to Italy of architect Federico Bordin.
He completed his architectural studies in Venice, specializing in landscape architecture and landscape ecology. During this time, he had the opportunity to deepen his understanding of design and environmental issues alongside some of Europe’s most renowned landscape architects, including João Nunes and Paolo Bürgi. Following a brief research experience at Cambridge University, he honed his professional skills within Germany’s landscape architecture scene, working at various design firms in Freiburg, Hamburg, and Berlin.
He collaborated with internationally recognized studios such as Hahn Hertling von Hantelmann and Planorama, where he was involved in the conception and development of landscape architecture projects across different scales – from private gardens and new residential developments to urban parks and large-scale urban planning. Beyond overseeing the design process from competition phase to execution, he also managed project coordination and collaboration with all professional partners involved in both the planning and construction stages.
Since 2023, he has been based in Italy, where he continues to work on select international projects while also focusing on private garden design and collaborating with local architects on larger-scale interventions.

OUR SERVICES

Federico Bordin Studio specializes in designing private and public green spaces, as well as residential landscapes. The studio also offers consultancy for design competitions and tenders, alongside project management and site supervision. Our interdisciplinary approach seamlessly integrates ecology, botany, urban planning, and design.
With professionalism and reliability, we guide clients through every phase of the process – from the initial concept exploration to meticulous planning, where aesthetics, functionality, and economic sustainability come together. Finally, during the execution phase, we oversee the works and coordinate all stakeholders on-site, ensuring a seamless realization of the project.
Federico Bordin Studio operates both internationally and in Italy, primarily across Lazio, Umbria, Tuscany, and Veneto.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

Every project begins with a thorough analysis of the client’s aesthetic, economic, and functional needs. This initial study is combined with a careful assessment of the architectural and environmental context, ensuring that the intervention blends harmoniously with its surroundings.
Within these parameters, we develop a design that balances creativity and practicality, bringing together architectural elements – such as materials, furnishings, and lighting – with botanical and environmental expertise, alongside technical considerations like irrigation, rainwater management, systems integration, and long-term maintenance.
We also assist and support our clients throughout the procurement and execution phases, acting as the sole point of contact to coordinate suppliers, skilled professionals, and craftsmen until the project is fully realized.

WHAT SETS US APART

Each of our projects is a story waiting to unfold – woven with the personality of those who will inhabit the space and the unique essence of its surroundings. We listen not only to functional needs and aesthetic preferences but also to the deeper, more intangible elements: the emotions, the memories, the quiet dreams tied to nature.
Together, we explore lifestyles, rituals, and the profound connection between people and their environment, crafting spaces that feel not only designed but deeply lived. Our goal is to create places that breathe, that evolve, that embrace their inhabitants in a seamless dialogue between nature and architecture.
Sustainability is a core principle of our work. We integrate environmental considerations into each stage of the design process, focusing on ecosystem preservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable water management. By balancing innovative design with ecological responsibility, we craft landscapes that are both enduring and adaptive, fostering a lasting connection between people and their environment.
